Used Tire Collection Day collected
a total of
5570 tires in 5 hours on March 24, 2007
This event was made possible by a grant from TCEQ,
administered by HOTCOG, and working in conjunction with the
Commissioner's Court of McLennan County, the HOT Fair and Rodeo, the
City of Waco, Central Texas RD & C and Keep Waco Beautiful. 80
Volunteers from MCC Departments of Geology, Biology and
Environmental Science,
78 volunteers from Baylor's Stepping Out and The SPURS, all made this event
happen. Additionally Kenneth Young, Elaine Alexander, Robert
Gordon, Shirley Blanton, Russ Alexander, John Cameron Orr, Nikkoli Willson, Sherri Street,
and Frames, Etc. gave of time to insure greater success for this event.
